Bernina Accessory of the Month

The October Accessory of the month is the BERNINA Mega & Maxi Emboridery Frame

The mega embroidery frame (max. embroidery area 150 x 400 mm) is a professional grade hoop for embroidering extra-large embroidery designs, motif combinations and borders. It has three possible embroidery positions. As a result, the fabric can remain clamped in the frame after completion of the first embroidery area. This allows tidy and accurate working of uniform patterns without the formation of offsets or gaps. Thanks to the template that is included, the fabric can be precisely aligned.

The maxi embroidery frame (max. embroidery area 210 x 400 mm) facilitates special large embroidery motifs, motif combinations and borders. It has an ergonomic twist lock with a ratchet mechanism, for easy clamping and releasing of the material. This ensures the embroidery design is optimally secured in the hoop. The template that is included allows for exact alignment of the fabric.

NEW Overlock Accessories

They have now developed some new accessories which are compatible with all combi and coverstich machines across both Bernina and Bernette brands – L890, b42/b48, b62/b68.

• Belt Loop Folders in the three sizes of 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm (finished width) – Using the Belt Loop Folders does not only make creating belt loops easy, but it also allows to create tapes for decoration or straps e.g. for bags or tops.
• Coverstitch Hemmer for hems of 25 mm (1”) depth. – The Hemmer allows to work from the right side of the fabric.

New Bernina Quilt Hoop Frame

Bernina are launching a new hoop quilt frame which will be available in the UK at the end of April. The key advantage of a hoop frame is that it is the same size as a 5’ Studio Frame but you can quilt a quilt of any size.
There will be two versions, one for domestic machines and the other for the Q16. Here are the full details.

It is an 85mm 5 layer Wenger Swiss Army Knife produced in collaboration with the Swiss sewing machine manufacturer Bernina.

It has a number of unique implements designed specifically for the tailor or seamstress.
